THE GREENE TURTLE INVITATIONAL
TOURNAMENT RULES
REGISTRATION:
All players must be current members of US Lacrosse.
All players and parents/guardians must sign a "Code of Conduct and Waiver and Release" prior to participation.
Coaches must register the day of the tournament at the designated tent, prior to your first game.
AGE DEFINITIONS:
U-11 players must be 10 or under as of 8/31/10.
U-13 players must be 12 or under as of 8/31/10.
U-15 players must be 14 or under and no 9th graders as of 8/31/10.
GAME FORMAT:
All games will start promptly at the assigned time.
Games will consist of two 22 minute running halves and game times will be kept by the referees.
There will be a 5 minute halftime.
One 30 second time out per team is allowed only during the second half.
All substitutions are on the fly.
The clock will stop during any injuries.
The referees have the discretion to shorten a game time to keep the tournament on schedule.
The appropriate equipment and mouth guards must be worn at all times.
TIE GAMES:
Tie games will be decided by a 5 minute sudden victory overtime (no time outs).
If there is no score after overtime, a Braveheart competition will end the game. Each team will provide one goalie and one field player to faceoff. Fouls will give the other team possession with no man down during Braveheart. Only one offensive player is allowed over the midfield line. The first one to score wins.
RULES:
NCAA rules apply, except for the following:
One handed checks are allowed for U-15 and U-13, but NOT allowed for U-11.
Four goal lead in U-11, no faceoff...free clear.
Up-right body checks are OK, but no player can take a run at another player nor leave their feet.
20 second count for clearing or 10 second count to get into the box for U-15 ONLY.
Stalling will be at the discretion of the referees.
The "Game Format" listed above applies.
Any discrepancies will be resolved by the Tournament Director.
INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Please check this website at www.turtlelacrosse.com by clicking on "Greene Turtle Invitational" at the top of the page for any weather updates prior to the event. During the event, any delays will be communicated by three blasts of the horn, which means there are potentially dangerous conditions and to clear all fields immediately. Play will be resumed as soon as possible.
